The BSc (Hons) Degree in Food Business is a four year programme which is offered jointly with the Faculty of Commerce.

Note: The BSc (Hons) Food Business Degree was replaced by a new degree, the BSc (Hons) Food Marketing and Entrepreneurship Degree, in September 2009.

For students who did not pass the BSc (Hons) Degree Examination in Food Business in 2011-12 or 2012-13.

The Fourth Year Food Business programme consists of core modules to the value of 50 credits and elective modules to the value of 10 credits. No student may register for Fourth Year Food Business until the Third University Examination in Food Business has been passed, and the Work Placement module FS3001 has been undertaken. To be admitted to the BSc (Hons) (Food Business) Degree Examination, a student must have satisfactorily attended, for at least a full academic year, the following modules amounting to 60 credits:

Note¹: Where a student has successfully passed FE4003 Advanced Food Marketing (5 credits), an exemption in FE4205 Consumer Behaviour in Food Markets (5 credits) will be granted.

Note²: Where a student has successfully passed FE4004 Food Retail Marketing and Supply Chain Management (5 credits,) an exemption in FE4206 Food Retail Marketing (5 credits) will be granted.

Note³: Where a student has successfully passed FE4001 Advanced Food Business Management (5 credits), an exemption in FE4207 Food Supply Chain Management (5 credits) will be granted.

Note4: Where a student has successfully passed NT4007 Applied Nutrition (5 credits), an exemption in NT2007 Fundamentals of Nutrition (5 credits) will be granted.

Three Year Rule
Students must pass the BSc (Hons) (Food Business) Degree Examination within three academic years from the date of first registration for Fourth Year. Failure to comply with this rule would mean that the student would be ineligible to proceed further with his/her studies. Exceptions to this rule may be granted by the College, only for very serious reasons.
