Professional Diploma in Organisational Behaviour

NFQ Level 9, Special Purpose Award

The Professional Diploma in Organisational Behaviour is a part-time programme taken over six months. The programme has two intakes per year: one in Autumn and one in Spring.

Students take 30 credits as follows:

IM6013 Managerial Decision Making (5 credits)
IM6014 Motivation and Engagement (5 credits)
IM6015 Psychology of Negotiation (5 credits)
IM6016 Influencing and Persuasion (5 credits)
IM6017 Psychology of Organisational Development (5 credits)
IM6018 Self-Awareness (5 credits)

Programme Learning Outcomes for Professional Diploma in Organisational Behaviour (NFQ Level 9, Special Purpose Award)
On successful completion of this programme, students should be able to:

  • Develop a critical understanding of self to enable meaningful and sustainable changes in leadership and managerial behaviour;
  • Determine appropriate frameworks to effectively influence with or without formal authority;
  • Use a comprehensive knowledge of motivation theory to enhance organisational engagement skills;
  • Develop and use appropriate skills to influence and persuade people in the formulation of comprehensive organisational decisions;
  • Develop negotiation skills proficiency in order to enhance organisational effectiveness;
  • Develop deep understanding and practical insight around attitudes and emotions in group dynamics to enhance group effectiveness;
  • Analyse and interpret relevant approaches to ensure that organisational development is moderated by an understanding of ethics, culture, resistance and other organisational dynamics.
