Professional Diploma in Management

NFQ Level 9, Special Purpose Award

The Professional Diploma in Management is a part-time programme taken over six months. The programme has two intakes per year: one in Autumn and one in Spring.

NOTE: This programme has been revised. Students who entered the programme in Autumn 2022 follow the curriculum detailed below under Programme Requirements for students commencing in Autumn 2022. Students who entered the programme in Spring 2023 follow the curriculum detailed below under Programme Requirements for students commencing in Spring 2023.

Students take 30 credits as follows:

IM6061 Financial Management (5 credits)
IM6062 Marketing (5 credits)
IM6063 Organisational Communications (5 credits)
IM6064 Strategic People Management (5 credits)
IM6065 Business Strategy (5 credits)
IM6066 Organisational Behaviour (5 credits)

Programme Learning Outcomes for Professional Diploma in Management (NFQ Level 9, Special Purpose Award)
On successful completion of this programme, students should be able to:

  • Critically analyse business financial information;
  • Demonstrate the skills and knowledge acquired and make recommendations that have the potential to add value to their organisation;
  • Critically appraise the techniques that can best drive the execution of successful change within the organisation;
  • Demonstrate their ability to undertake research and to integrate academic frameworks, tools and models into practical applications;
  • Analyse the benefit of applying and using strategic tools and concepts and critically evaluate the impact their use can have on their organisation;
  • Evaluate the external environment for the organisation.
