Professional Diploma in the Management of Governance, Risk and Compliance (not on offer in 2022/23)

The Professional Diploma in the Management of Governance, Risk and Compliance is a part-time programme taken over six months.

Students take 30 credits as follows:

IM6069 Principles of Compliance and Ethical Leadership (10 credits)
IM6070 Social Responsibility and Change Management (5 credits)
IM6071 Risk Management for Compliance Professionals (5 credits)
IM6072 Negotiating and Influencing in a Compliance Setting (5 credits)
IM6073 Corporate Governance Essentials (5 credits)

Programme Learning Outcomes for Professional Diploma in the Management of Governance, Risk and Compliance (NFQ Level 9, Special Purpose Award)
On successful completion of this programme, students should be able to:

  • Demonstrate a critical comprehension of the social responsibility agenda across a number of different sectors;
  • Articulate and apply the theories and principles of compliance and ethical leadership;
  • Be fully aware ethically in the compliance setting;
  • Better explore the challenges for organisations of managing under different models of compliance and risk frameworks;
  • Be conversant on models of corporate governance for a range of organisational types including an assessment of ethical business models;
  • Critically assess risk issues, including climate and data risk across a range of compliance settings;
  • Develop core management skills that are foundational for compliance activities - e.g. Negotiation Strategy, Change Management and Information Governance;
  • Enhance awareness and appreciation of professional interaction with regulators, senior management teams, the board and extended stakeholders connected to the business.
