The Degree of MSc by Research may be pursued in the College of Medicine and Health.
In order to be eligible to proceed to the MSc by Research, a candidate must normally have obtained at least second class honours, at a relevant primary degree examination or equivalent, be recommended by the Head of the relevant Department/School and be accepted by the Graduate Studies Committee.
A candidate for the MSc must:
a. pursue a programme of supervised research for at least one year
(full-time), or two years (part-time), from the date of first
registration for the programme after obtaining the primary degree,
b. submit a thesis based upon the work done during the programme of
study, and
c. pass an examination on the subject matter of the thesis, if the
examiners so decide.
