This MA in Arts Management and Creative Producing is a full-time programme running for 12 months or a part-time programme running for 24 months. The course offers postgraduate training in arts leadership and management as well as providing essential practical skills in event organisation across a range of art forms including amongst others, theatre, opera, music, film, dance, literature, visual and performance art. The emphasis is on learning through a combination of professional practice in collaboration with the Cork Opera House as well as more traditional learning in a class room setting. Students take core modules on arts management and creative producing together with an end of year arts placement. Students will also have flexibility to choose from a suite of elective modules across the disciplines to suit their individual goals and needs. As a final project, and with mentorship/guidance from the teaching team, students will programme their own professional programme of workeither on an online platform or in live presentation (depending on prevailing conditions) in collaboration with Cork Opera House.
Students take 90 credits (40 credits of core modules plus an arts placement (5 credits), one 5 credit elective and a Final Project dissertation module of 40 credits) as follows:

Note:
Students with approved previous training in management and marketing may be advised by the Programme Coordinator to replace core modules in these subjects with those from the selection of electives on offer. Not all modules may be available every year. For this reason, and in order to ensure coherence and a good workload balance over the course of the programme, all students will select their elective module in consultation with the programme coordinator.
PART-TIME OPTION
Part-time is taken over two years.
Part-time students must take a minimum of 25 credits of taught modules in their first year. In Year Two part-time students take a minimum of 60 credits. For part-time students, the Final Project (dissertation) module is only available in the second year. See below:
Year 1 (minimum of 25 credits):
In Semester 1 part-time students must take: DR6044 (5 credits) and MG4036 (5 credits)
In Semester 2 part-time students must take: DR6045 (5 credits) and MG4048 (5 credits) and DR6051 (5 credits)
In Year 2 (minimum of 55 credits):
Part-time students must take core modules DR6049 (10 credits) in Semester 1 plus DR6050 (5 credits) in Semester 2.
In addition, part-time students must take their Final Project (dissertation) module (DR6048, 40 credits) in Semester 3.
Part-time students must also take one 5-credit elective module and Arts Placement (DR6047, 5 credits) in either Year 1 or Year 2.
For part-time students, the Final Project (dissertation) module is only available in the second year.

Postgraduate Diploma in Arts Management and Creative Producing
Students who pass modules to the value of 60 credits and achieve an aggregate pass mark of 40% overall may opt to exit the programme and be awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Arts Management and Creative Producing.
