The MSc in International Public Policy and Diplomacy may be taken full-time over 12 months or part-time over 24 months from the date of first registration for the programme. The taught element of the programme runs from early September to the end of March.

Students take 90 credits as follows:

Part 1 (60 credits) consists of:

• EITHER GV6013 Work-based Dissertation in International Public Policy and Diplomacy (30 credits)

Students studying for the degree full-time take all modules in one year.

Students studying for the degree part-time take the programme as follows:

From early April to the end of August, students will either go on work placement (GV6013) or write a dissertation (GV6014) to the value of 30 credits. Students who do not go on placement must complete the dissertation. The placement portfolio or dissertation must be submitted at the beginning of September.
