The MSc in Human Anatomy is a full-time programme running over 12 months from the date of first registration for the programme.

Students take taught modules to the value of 60 credits and complete a research dissertation (AN6010) to the value of 30 credits.

Students take 90 credits as follows:

Part I
Core Modules
Students take 55 credits as follows:
AN6002 Human Gross Anatomy I (15 credits)
AN6003 Human Gross Anatomy II (15 credits)
AN6004 Neuroanatomy (10 credits)
AN6009 Radiological Imaging (5 credits)
AN6011 Learning and Teaching in Anatomy Education (10 credits)

Elective Modules
and modules to the value of 5 credits from the following:
AN6008 Biomechanics of Human Movement (5 credits)
AN6012 Human Embryological Development (5 credits)

Part II
AN6010 Research Dissertation (30 credits)

Examinations
Full details and regulations governing Examinations for each programme will be contained in the Marks and Standards 2020/2021 Book and for each module in the Book of Modules, 2020/2021.

Exit award: Postgraduate Diploma in Human Anatomy (NFQ Level 9, Major Award)
Students who successfully complete Part I (taught modules) to the value of 60 credits may opt not to progress to Part II (dissertation) and exit the programme and be conferred with a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Anatomy. A student who subsequently applies to undertake the Master's programme must do so within 5 years of successful completion of the Postgraduate Diploma Examination.

Exit award: Postgraduate Certificate in Human Anatomy (NFQ Level 9, Minor Award)
Students who successfully complete and pass taught modules to the value of 30 credits (AN6002 and AN6003) may opt to exit the programme and be conferred with a Postgraduate Certificate in Human Anatomy. A student who subsequently applies to undertake either the Postgraduate Diploma or Master's programme must do so within 5 years of successful completion of the Postgraduate Certificate Examination.
