The Scholarships and Prizes are awarded on the basis of the previous year's Examination results, i.e. those listed in the 2018/2019 University Calendar are based on Summer Examination 2018 results.
GEORGE J. MITCHELL PEACE SCHOLARSHIP
In recognition of the historic role of George J. Mitchell in advancing the security, hope and opportunity for generations in Ireland and Northern Ireland, the George J. Mitchell Peace Scholarship has been established. The purpose of the Scholarship is to create opportunities for the exchange of university students between Ireland and the State of Maine.
University College Cork has been nominated by the Minister for Education and Science to send suitably qualified students under the Scholarship to an institution in the University of Maine System. To qualify for the Scholarship a student must be:
Students who are immediate past graduates of UCC are eligible to apply for the Scholarship.
The successful candidate will receive remission of tuition and academic fees and free room and board, from the University of Maine.

THE HARTING SCHOLAR
A place will be offered annually at University College Cork to a student of English from one of the Dutch universities.
THE WILLIAM L. MARKEY SCHOLARSHIP
University College Cork has a student exchange programme with the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Under the programme, a UCC student, at undergraduate level and in any discipline, will be invited to study at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst for a full academic year. In addition to a tuition fee waiver from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, the UCC student will be the recipient of the William L. Markey Scholarship. The scholarship, to the value of at least $3,000, will be awarded as often as funds allow and to a student of high honours standard. Information on the William L. Markey Scholarship is available here.
