The BA (Hons) (Digital Humanities and Information Technology) (International) Pathway is a four-year, full-time honours degree programme.
In First Arts (Digital Humanities and Information Technology) students take Computer Science (CS) and Arts and Humanities (DH) modules to the value of 45 credits together with one other subject (15 credits) from the following First Arts subjects: Archaeology, Béaloideas, Celtic Civilisation, Chinese Studies, Economics, English, Geography, German, Greek, History, Spanish, Italian, Latin, Philosophy, Politics, and Religions and Global Diversity and Sociology. Change of Subject (First Year only)
Changes to First Year subjects will be allowed, provided subject prerequisites are met, up to four weeks after the start of Semester 1, i.e. until Friday, 5 October 2018. The online facility for making changes to subjects will only be open for the first two weeks of Semester 1, i.e. until Friday, 21 September 2018. Subsequent changes up until Friday, 5 October 2018 must be processed manually through the Student Records and Examinations Office, West Wing, UCC. Changes for FETAC and Mature students and any other student not presenting with a Leaving Certificate must be processed manually through the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences Office, G31, O'Rahilly Building. Three Year Rule
Students must pass the First University Examination in Arts (Digital Humanities and Information Technology) within three academic years from the date of first
registration for First Year. Failure to comply with this rule means
that the student will be ineligible to proceed further with his/her
studies. Exceptions to this rule may be granted by the College of
Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences, only for very serious
reasons.
Students who wish to take the Second Arts (Digital Humanities and Information Technology) (International) Pathway register for the pathway at the beginning of Second Year. No student may register for Second Arts (Digital Humanities and Information Technology) (International) Pathway until he/she has passed the First University Examination in Arts (Digital Humanities and Information Technology). The selection of any module is conditional on the Professor or Lecturer concerned and the College being satisfied that a student is capable of profiting by attendance thereat. Students may not select modules which involve a timetable clash.
In Second Arts (Digital Humanities and Information Technology) (International) Pathway students take Computer Science (CS) and Arts and Humanities (DH) modules to the value of 50 credits together with 10 credits of their chosen minor subject continued from First Year. Students wishing to register a change of module must do so via the Student
Portal no later than two weeks after the start of each
Semester, i.e. by Friday, 21 September 2018 (Semester 1) or Friday, 25 January
2019 (Semester 2). Semester 1 modules cannot be changed in Semester 2.
No changes in registration will be allowed after these deadlines.
