The BA (Hons) (Film and Screen Media) is a three-year, full-time honours degree programme. Applicants for this programme must fulfil the minimum entry requirements (see here).
To be eligible for the award of the BA (Hons) (Film and Screen Media) degree a student will be required to have achieved 180 credits by obtaining 60 credits in each of First, Second, and Third Arts (Film and Screen Media). A student may not register for more than 60 credits in one year.

The BA (Hons) (Film and Screen Media) (International) Pathway is a four-year programme which enables students to study   abroad for a year in an approved University outside Ireland. 
In First Arts (Film and Screen Media) students take Film and Screen Media (30 credits) together with two other subjects (15 credits each) from those listed below. It is recommended that at least one of these subjects be a language/literature subject. To avoid timetable clashes no more than one subject may be chosen from any separate group below.

#Students can combine a subject from group 2(a) with a subject from group 2(b) as well as a subject from group 6(a) with a subject from 6(b) in first year.

Changes to First Year subjects will be allowed, provided subject prerequisites are met, up to four weeks after the start of Semester 1, i.e. until Friday, 5 October 2018. The online facility for making changes to subjects will only be open for the first two weeks of Semester 1, i.e. until Friday, 21 September 2018. Subsequent changes up until Friday, 5 October 2018 must be processed manually through the Student Records and Examinations Office, West Wing, UCC. Changes for FETAC and Mature students and any other student not presenting with a Leaving Certificate must be processed manually through the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences Office, G31, O'Rahilly Building.           FX1001 (10 credits), FX1002 (5 credits), FX1003 (5 credits), FX1004
          (10 credits)
plus two other First Arts subjects (15 credits each) from

           will be contained in the Marks and Standards 2018/2019 Book, and
           for each module in the Book of Modules, 2018/2019.
        
Three Year Rule 
           Students must pass the First University Examination in Arts (Film and
           Screen Media) within three academic years from the date of first
           registration for First Year. Failure to comply with this rule means
           that the student will be ineligible to proceed further with his/her
           studies. Exceptions to this rule may be granted by the College of
           Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences, only for very serious
           reasons. 
No student may register for Second Arts (Film and Screen Media) until s/he has passed the First University Examination in Arts (Film and Screen Media). The selection of any module is conditional on the Professor or Lecturer concerned and the College being satisfied that a student is capable of profiting by attendance thereat. Students may not select modules which involve a timetable clash.
Student who wish to take the four-year option with a year abroad must register for the BA (Film and Screen Media) (International) Pathway at the beginning of Second Year.
In Second Arts (Film and Screen Media), students take 40 credits of Film and Screen Media plus 20 credits of one other subject continued from First Year.
Change of Module
           Students wishing to register a change of module must do so via the Student 
           Portal no later than two weeks after the start of each
           Semester, i.e. by Friday, 21 September 2018 (Semester 1) or Friday, 25 January
           2019 (Semester 2). Semester 1 modules cannot be changed in Semester 2.
           No changes in registration will be allowed after these deadlines.
