Certificate in Irish Politics

NFQ Level 7, Special Purpose Award

The Certificate in Irish Politics is offered to Visiting Students only (i.e. JYA students, Visiting Erasmus students, etc). It runs in Semester 2 of each year (January - April with end of module exams taking place in May).

To be considered for the award of Certificate in Irish Politics a student must have satisfactorily attended modules to the value of 30 credits below.

Core Modules

Students take 20 credits as follows:
GV3108 Introduction to Politics of Ireland (5 credits)
GV3206 Politics in Northern Ireland (5 credits)
GV4413 Public Finance 2 (5 credits)
GV4415 Contemporary Debates in the EU (5 credits)

Elective Modules

Students will choose 10 credits of elective modules from the range of modules available to Visiting Students (here) in consultation with the Programme Director and subject to timetable and other constraints.
