The Degree of LLB is a postgraduate degree in Law which runs over two years full-time or four years part-time.  In either case, such studies or research must be under such direction and supervision as may be approved by the School of Law. A full-time candidate may not, during the currency of the studies or research, simultaneously pursue any other form of education, training or employment, without the advance permission of the School of Law.

Candidates must be approved by the School of Law and must normally hold a Degree (NFQ Level 8) with at least Second Class Honours.

Applicants who hold a Law Degree (Level 8) with at least Second Class Honours (or have equivalent professional qualification/s and experience in law, as determined by the School of Law) will be exempt the 60 credits of Year 1 and will commence the programme in Year 2 (or, if part-time, in Year 3 of 4).

The number of places available in any given year is dependent on resources and all qualified candidates may not be admitted.

FULL-TIME

Exit Award: Higher Diploma in Law (NFQ Level 8)
Upon successful completion of Year 1 Full-time or Years 1 and 2 Part-time students may opt not to proceed with the programme and exit with a Higher Diploma in Law.
