MSc QUALIFYING EXAMINATION

(i) Graduates with at least a Second Class, Grade I Honours standard in their primary degree examination other than in their proposed subject of research may, with the approval of the School of Business and on the recommendation of the Head of Department to which they propose to submit the thesis, be admitted to the MSc programme, provided they undertake the MSc Qualifying Examination;

(ii) A graduate who has presented for a relevant degree in the School of Business, but did not attain the required standard in the subject area may also be permitted to proceed to the MSc Degree provided he/she undertakes the MSc Qualifying Examination.

Candidates must be recommended by the relevant Department and be accepted by the School of Business.

Note: The MSc (Qualifying) Examination is not available in Management and Marketing.

The MSc Qualifying programme comprises at least 40 credits from an appropriate degree level examination, as designated by the Head of the Department to which the candidate proposes to submit the thesis.

Entry Requirements for the MSc Degree Programme
A candidate must:
(a) demonstrate research capability;
(b) attain at least Second Class, Grade I Honours standard in the MSc Qualifying Examination.
