The Postgraduate Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is a part-time programme running for 9 months from the date of first registration for the programme.
Completion of the certificate programme does not permit individuals to practice as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, interested candidates will need to progress to diploma / masters level to obtain a licence to practice.
Applicants for the Postgraduate Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy should normally:

MH6135 Therapeutic Relationship in Cognitive
Behaviour Therapy (CBT) (5 credits)
MH6136 Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) models of
Mental Health Problems I (5 credits)
MH6137 Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) models of
Mental Health Problems II (10 credits)
MH6138 Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) models of
Mental Health Problems III (5 credits)

Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy
Students who have successfully completed and passed the Postgraduate Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and who satisfy the additional entry requirements for the Postgraduate Diploma (including the requirement from 2015/16 to have achieved 60% in MH6138 on the Postgraduate Certificate) may apply for the Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy. A student must do so within 5 years from the date of first registration for the Postgraduate Diploma. Applicants who have passed the Postgraduate Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy but achieved less than 60% in MH6138 will be required to attend for interview.
