MMedSc (Sport and Exercise Medicine)

NFQ Level 9, Major Award

The MMedSc (Sport and Exercise Medicine) is a part-time programme running for 18 months over two years from the date of first registration for the programme. Classes are held on Fridays and Saturdays over 12 weekends per year, exceptional events such as Faculty of sports medicine meetings may be included at course coordinator discretion. A research project is submitted at the end of Year 2. The programme is cyclical in nature.

Commencing with the 2013/2014 intake of first year students (including repeats), this programme will be subject to the University's Fitness to Practise Policy - full details may be found here.

Students take 90 credits as follows:

SX6001 Sports Injuries I: Clinical (20 credits)
SX6002 Exercise, General Health and Sports Medicine (20 credits)
SX6003 Sport and Exercise Medicine: Scientific Principles (20 credits)
SX6004 Research Project (30 credits)
